Social partners

The social partners represent parties involved with the labour market policy from a national, regional and local level, through counselling and tripartite discussions with the government.

Denmark has a long tradition of involving social partners in labour market policy. Tripartite bodies with representatives from among social partners and public authorities etc. exist at both national and regional level. The partners' large influence on employment policy, wages and labour conditions are characteristic of the Danish labour market model. The state's cooperation with the social partners is today an integrated part of Danish employment policy.
